The loon chick is about 8 weeks old and, as you can see from the photo, has almost completely molted into it’s juvenile feathers. It is now regularly diving with the adults and should be feeding itself. However, it still aggressively begs from the adults and they feed it. It should start exercising it’s wings soon and be trying to fly in the next several weeks.
