Uploading Photos

Method for submitting photos to be published on moonlake.org

  1. If your photo is 1 Mb or less skip to step 3, else go to step 2.
  2. Resize the photo to a maximum size of 800 pixels or a size less than 1 Mb. Most of you probably have software already that will allow you to do this.  If so, resize the photo and proceed to step 3.   If not, do a web search on photo re-sizing software. There are lots of apps available.  One I have used for a Windows computer is a free program  that can be downloaded. It is very compact so it downloads quickly and takes little space on your computer’s hard drive.
    1. Download the software by clicking on the following link:  Mihov Image Resizer
    2. Install the software and then read the instructions by clicking the “help” tab followed by clicking “help” on the drop down menu
    3. Locate the photos you want to resize from the file list on the left portion of the screen.  You can select multiple photos by holding the control key while clicking on the files you would like to choose.  Note that your selections appear below the file list.
    4. Click on the tab for the type of image you are going to resize (almost always JPG)
    5. In the lower right corner of the screen change the setting for “Pixels” to 800  if it is some number other than 800
    6. Click the “Resize” button immediately under “Pixels”.  Your resized photos will have the same name as your selected photos but are preceded by “mini-“
  3. Email your reduced size photos to:  webmaster@moonlake.org  Please include any comments you would like to be posted with your photos.

I hope to see your photos soon.
