7 Day Forecast for Land O’ Lakes
Monitoring Rainfall and Snowfall-
Some people believe Moon Lake is a spring fed lake, but it is really a seepage lake, meaning that with no surface inlet or outlet, the lake level relies solely on precipitation, runoff, and groundwater for its water source.
Whether you’re curious about what the lake level may be based on precipitation or you want to enjoy snow for winter sports, you may be interested in following rainfall and snowfall totals for our area. This data comes courtesy of Land O’ Lakes resident Rod Sharka who reports daily to the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow Network, CoCoRaHS (www.cocorahs.org). The address for his weather information on the site is wi-vl-9. Rod lives off the Palmer Lake Road west of Land O Lakes so the data may not be exact!
