The loon chick looks like it is doing fine.  On May 31 the Loons abandoned the egg on the nest so we will have only one chick this year.  The Loon family stayed in Loon Bay near the nest until late morning today, May 1 but are now venturing out into the lake.

I wish the photos were better but here is the chick on the platform probably waiting for its sibling to emerge.
