A single loon chick was first observed at about 4PM Monday, June 27.  Please be extra cautious boating.

The Loons began sitting on the nest again on Memorial Day, May 30.  It seems they are on and off the nest the first couple of days.  This also happened the first time they nested earlier this spring.  Early this morning when the nest was not occupied two eggs were observed in the nest.

The afternoon of Wednesday, May 18 the loons abandoned the nest.  Swarms of Loon Black Flies were noted when the loon was still sitting on the nest.  There are 2 eggs on the nest. Thankfully it is still early enough yet so there could well be a second nesting attempt this year.
