The MLRA maintains a nesting platform for loons in the western bay at the south end of the lake. To allow the loons privacy for mating, nesting and raising chicks, buoys are placed at the entrance to the bay each spring and will remain there until the mating season ends. We ask that you please refrain from taking your boats and other watercraft into the bay when the buoys are present.
