Rob Matusiak noted the presence of Suckers while fishing near the boat landing on Memorial Day weekend.
We contacted the Michigan DNR. There response is below and includes the results of a 2011 fish survey
Thank you for your information on the sucker presence.
Your lake was surveyed in the summer of 2011, with the catch data shown below. White suckers at that time did not appear to be negatively effecting the fishery. You undoubtedly saw a spawning pod of suckers in the shallow area of the lake, and while these seemed to be quite dominant by their presence they are simply just a part of the overall fish assemblage within the lake. We will continue to monitor the sucker presence in future survey netting efforts on Moon Lake.
